Maya Bay in Thailand from the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio will reopen to tourists
visiting Mayan Bay in Hat Nopparat Tara-Mu-Ko-Phi-Phi National Park, made famous in the film “The Beach” with actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The Daily Mail writes about this.
From January 1, 2022, travelers will be allowed to the island with strict restrictions. Every day no more than 1.8 thousand people will be able to come there.
Now arriving boats will drop off tourists at the pier on the opposite side of the island, and not in the bay itself. In addition, tourists will have to choose to visit a time slot lasting one hour from 10:00 to 16:00.
It is clarified that a popular attraction located on a desert island was closed in 2018 due to too large influx of tourists. Every day it was visited by about five thousand people, which began to destroy the natural ecosystem of the water area and corals in the bay.
In October, a mega-object for tourists was opened in Dubai – the world's tallest Ferris wheel Ain Dubai with a height of 250 meters. Visitors will be able to observe the panorama of the city both during the day and at night. As the creators of the project said, 11 thousand tons of steel were used for the wheel, which is twice as much as was needed for the construction of the Eiffel Tower.
