According to Balashov, the editorial offices of various media are receiving proposals to publish materials discrediting his honor and dignity. They are written by people associated with the deputy of the maslikhat (local council) of the city of Alma-Ata, Nursultan Shokanov, who is the victim in this case.
In addition, he said that such materials are already appearing in the Kazakh media. According to Balashov, the judge had previously issued a warning to the representatives of the injured party for publishing materials of court hearings in the media without the consent of the rest of the participants in the process. He also warned that he would consider this an attempt to put pressure on the court (the audio recording of the corresponding words of the judge is at the disposal of Lenta.ru).
Balashov is sure that the materials in the media were given by Shokanov's lawyer Askar Kaymakov. The businessman sent a statement to the Department of Justice of Alma-Ata demanding to revoke Kaimakov's license for disclosing court proceedings, which is a violation of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Kazakhstan.
Viktor Balashov, who worked in Kazakhstan as a top manager of the largest Russian clothing manufacturer Vostok -service “, was the victim of a business scandal between the management of the company in the person of Dmitry Golovnev and local partner Nursultan Shokanov. In September, the Kazakh authorities placed the Russian in a pre-trial detention center, and during the last court hearing, the prosecutor's office requested 11 years in prison for him.
According to Balashov's mother, the defense was able to fully prove the fabrication of the criminal case against her son, but the chances of winning the court is very small. At the same time, she pointed out that the investigation and Shokanov himself, who allegedly belongs to the clan of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, is constantly putting pressure on her son.
