Revealed the motive for the murder and dismemberment of a pensioner in St. Petersburg

REN TV: son killed and dismembered his father in St. Petersburg due to a protracted apartment dispute , whose remains were found in the Smolenka River, became a housing issue. This is reported by REN TV.

There was a protracted conflict between the 35-year-old son and the 66-year-old father, which escalated on November 13. During the quarrel, the accused shot the victim in the head with a hunting rifle, says the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Then he dismembered the body with a jigsaw.

To cover up the murder, the man took two carts and two shopping bags from the store, where he later put his father's remains. Then he threw them into a nearby river. The accused confessed to the crime. The question of his arrest is being resolved.

Law enforcers are looking for other parts of the body of the deceased Russian.

It was possible to establish the son's involvement in the murder of his father after studying the recordings from street surveillance cameras. They recorded how, at three o'clock in the morning on November 14, he was carrying a trolley on wheels, similar to the one to which the bag with the remains was tied.

The 66-year-old pensioner was reported missing by his daughter. The man was last seen on November 14. Later, on Tuesday, November 16, the remains of his body were found in a bag in the Smolenka River on Vasilyevsky Island. On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 105 (“Murder”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
