Parents of a man who spent 20 years in slavery in Kazakhstan went to fortune-tellers
Parents of a Russian who spent 20 years in slavery in Kazakhstan, have never contacted the police about the disappearance of their son. The human rights ombudsman in the Yaroslavl region Sergey Baburkin told RIA Novosti about this.
According to him, the family of Alexei Kotov tried to find a man with the help of fortune-tellers and psychics who confirmed to them that the man was alive. They also went to the Wait for Me program. As the relatives of the disappeared said themselves, in 1995 he left for military service, after demobilization he returned home for a short time, and then went to serve in Kazakhstan under a contract.
“According to them, when he was about to return, he was beaten on train station, captured and handed over to this man, the owner of the farm. As I understand it, he did not have documents and money to get out of there, “Baburkin said.
Earlier, the police provided a video in which a man introduces himself as a native of the village of Gore-Gryaz, Gavrilov-Yamskiy district, Yaroslavl region, Alexei Aleksandrovich Kotov and says that he is in captivity. The Russian asks his parents to help him “get out of Kazakhstan.”
Later, law enforcement officers established that the man in the video is a 44-year-old Russian citizen. A 44-year-old local resident suspected of illegal imprisonment has already been detained. A criminal case was initiated. The incident was also dealt with by the Russian Embassy in Kazakhstan.
