Former world boxing champion Kostya Tszyu on the battles of Tim's son in Russia: I gave my word not to beat mine

Former absolute world champion boxing welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu on Match TV explained the refusal of Tim Tszyu's son to organize fights in Russia.

Tszyu Sr. considered that his son would lose his fan base during the fighting in the country. “I'm a father. I bring Tim here, to Chelyabinsk, for example, or to Yekaterinburg, and we beat a local man. He will get negative immediately. Moreover, I gave my word not to beat my own, ”said the athlete.

Earlier on November 17, Tim Tszyu defeated the Japanese Takeshi Inoue by unanimous decision and won two belts: WBO Global and WBO Asia Pacific in the first middle weight. The 27-year-old has won his 20 consecutive professional victories. Tszyu lives and trains in Australia.

In April of this year, Kostya Tszyu named the conditions for holding a fight with his son's participation in Russia. Tszyu demanded from Russian promoters a written proposal describing the conditions of the fight, as well as the use of rights and the broadcasting of the show.
