During Transport Week at the Znanie. Transport “named trends in information technologies
The second day of the international forum “Transport of Russia” has ended, the official partner of which is the Russian society “Knowledge”. Today the studio “Knowledge. Transport ”, which this year for the first time works within the framework of the annual forum in Gostiny Dvor, was visited by the heads of the country's largest companies and leading industry experts. Here speakers told students of specialized universities and novice specialists about advanced technologies and how digitalization is changing the country's transport sector.
The marathon was opened by Andrey Nikulin, First Deputy General Director for Production at Sheremetyevo International Airport. According to the expert, Sheremetyevo is a big city that cannot develop without the latest information technologies. Artificial intelligence is used in all areas, because the airport is planned to operate 10 years in advance. For example, to get a forecast on passenger traffic next year, IT specialists collect information from all databases, open sources on the Internet, including social networks. The received information goes into general analytics, and the system generates a scenario of how many passengers will need to be served. Based on this, the financial model of the “air city” is formed.
The speech of Igor Milashevsky, General Director of GLONASS JSC, was devoted to navigation technologies and their capabilities. According to him, the most important function of the ERA-GLONASS system is to prevent damage to the life and health of citizens, as well as the environment. Russian satellite technologies are designed to call emergency services, while the system can help not only directly affected motorists, on whose cars it is installed. Thousands of cases have been recorded when owners of vehicles with ERA-GLONASS equipment, having witnessed accidents on the roads, used the system to call emergency services, speeding up their arrival and helping the victims. According to Igor Milashevsky, during the pandemic, calls began to arrive about severe patients with COVID-19.
The efficiency of the system is very high – the transfer of information to emergency operational services takes place in a matter of seconds, said Igor Milashevsky. On average, agents receive new calls every 5 seconds. He stressed that the data on car owners are not stored in the database and it is exclusively a broadcasting system. In his speech, the General Director of JSC “GLONASS” announced the development of a “black box” for unmanned vehicles. They will perform the same function as on airplanes.
Alexander Isurin, President of PJSC TransContainer, spoke about the structure of the container transportation market, which grew by 15.5 percent over the year. According to the expert, without the container there would be no international trade in the world; this is the ideal and most growing option for the delivery of goods in the logistics market. The main advantages are speed, price and quality. All this can be achieved with the help of modern technology. The digitalization of the logistics industry is a matter of the competitiveness of companies operating in this market, and many large logistics companies create their own IT systems. Alexander Isurin urged everyone to learn to predict the market correctly and create infrastructure for projects in advance. In his opinion, the development of new technologies primarily depends on qualified personnel.
As the general director of JSC “Settlement Solutions” Mikhail Kazakov said, a digital revolution has already taken place in passenger transport and the technologies of the future have come to the present. Settlement Solutions JSC, the operator of transport cards, proceeds from the wishes and needs of passengers – you no longer need to contact the driver, and the payment is debited in a split second from the passenger's transport or bank card. With the introduction of non-cash payment, all payments of passengers enter the electronic register, available to the control and management bodies.
President of the Center for Strategic Research Foundation Vladislav Onishchenko spoke about the digital revolution in the transport industry, how the mobility of mankind has changed. According to the expert, one of the innovations that will come into our lives in the near future is unmanned aerial vehicles. And soon drones will replace couriers.
“In car sharing, the delivery function or“ to the leg ”could already be available. That is, I found a free car on my smartphone, but you need to walk to it, and it is raining outside. For example, in Japan, an electric car has been developed with this function: you press a button, it drives up by itself. Such a car is safe for all road users – it travels to the customer at low speed and for a short distance. Soon they will come to this here, too, ”emphasized at the end of the second day of the studio“ Knowledge. Transport “Director of the Institute for Transport Economics and Transport Policy of the Higher School of Economics, Chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of Transport of Russia Mikhail Blinkin.
