Guberniev: it would be great if Russia and Ukraine played against each other at the junctions 
Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev said he was sorry that he will not be able to see the match between the football teams of Russia and Ukraine. His words are quoted by “Sport-Express”.
According to Guberniev, he wants to live up to the moment when Russia and Ukraine can freely play with each other. The commentator added that the match between the Russian and Ukrainian teams will be a great holiday and great happiness for him. “How great it would be now if the players played against each other in the joints [for reaching the 2022 World Cup],” he said.
Both teams took second places in their groups and will continue to fight for getting to the 2022 World Cup in play-offs. In the playoffs of qualification, the Russian national team will not be able to meet with Ukraine. By the decision of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the teams will initially be split into different semi-final pairs during the draw. They will also not be able to play against each other in the decisive match of the qualifier.
