FAS proposed to increase diesel sales due to rising prices

FAS has developed a number of proposals to stabilize prices for winter diesel

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has developed a number of proposals to regulate the fuel market, which will help stabilize prices for winter diesel. This is reported by TASS.

The agency proposes to increase the standard for diesel sales on the stock exchange from 7.5 to 10 percentage points. It is planned that this will create a margin of safety during the period of increased demand. Other FAS plans include reducing the share of surrogate products, optimizing fuel transportation, and adjusting the damping mechanism.

On November 16, the price of winter diesel fuel at the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange again broke a historic record, reaching 61.528 thousand rubles per ton. Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Russia explained the rise in exchange prices for winter diesel fuel by the rush demand of traders, as well as expensive oil and oil products in the world. According to the ministry, since the beginning of November, about 34.5 thousand tons of winter grades of diesel fuel have been sold at the exchange auctions on average per day, which is 50 percent higher than the level of the same period of the pre-pandemic 2019.
