Dr. Myasnikov: when taking blood-thinning drugs, you should stop using beans with the appearance of blood clots. He stated this on the air of the TV channel “Russia 1”, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, such products contain vitamin K, which acts as an “antagonist” of drugs intended for the treatment of thrombosis. He warned that eating green beans, broccoli and spinach can neutralize the effects of blood-thinning drugs like warfarin. At the same time, the specialist noted that vitamin K by itself cannot lead to thrombosis.
Earlier, Myasnikov listed drugs, the frequent use of which can harm the kidneys. According to the TV presenter, some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, ketorolac, diclofenac and drotaverine pose a threat to kidney health. “All these painkillers are dangerous for the stomach and heart, but first of all they are dangerous for the kidneys,” he stressed.
