Doctors disagree on the deprivation of colleagues-anti-vaccine diplomas

Doctor Yartseva: you shouldn't take your diplomas from your anti-vaccine colleagues, but educate everyone ru »regarding the idea of depriving their anti-vaccine colleagues of their diplomas. Earlier, Senator of the Federation Council Alexander Bashkin told RIA Novosti that doctors who dissuade Russians from being vaccinated against COVID-19 should be deprived of their medical diplomas as incompetent.

Therapist, immunologist Irina Yartseva considered the initiative absurd. “Who can prove that a doctor is an anti-vaccine? Will it be some kind of video fixation? For example, a patient comes to me and says, “I don't want to be vaccinated.” I try as much as possible to clarify some of his fears, to tell why one should not be afraid, but I cannot put pressure on a person and force him. Am I considered an anti-vaccine? ” – she said.

Yartseva also noted that she can understand the fears of doctors who do not trust the vaccine: “We have been taught evidence-based medicine all our lives. To enter the market, a drug must undergo a series of clinical trials, follow up for several years, but what is happening now? We work in the outbreak, and in the outbreak it is always urgent, no data is available. And despite attempts to vaccinate the population, the incidence is still high, so, of course, there is a huge mistrust on the part of everyone. ” budget for educational work to reduce fear of vaccination and teach people to be health conscious.

Therapist, cardiologist Yaroslav Ashikhmin, on the other hand, considered the initiative to be correct: “If a doctor campaigns against vaccination, he simply goes over to the side of evil and ceases to be a doctor. I would only talk about deprivation of a certificate, not a diploma. It would be noble, from the point of view of these people, if they themselves gave it up and went, for example, to sweep the streets. Then there will be much more benefit from them, because today everyone needs to be vaccinated, and we all well understand that there is simply no other option. ”

Ashikhmin also said that in addition to revoking a license, he would introduce anti-vaccination doctors financial or even administrative responsibility: “It would be nice to return the money for the education to the state, which spent on you, part of the covid payments, for example. The responsibility should be as tough as in the case of extremism, I believe, if you urge not to get vaccinated. ”

Despite a different point of view, both doctors agreed that vaccination is advisory in nature and the person has the right to decide whether to vaccinate him or not.
