After the riot in the Russian colony, a case was opened

TASS: a case was initiated after a riot of prisoners in a colony in the Urals what happened in the spring in a strict regime colony located in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk region. A law enforcement source told TASS about this.

According to him, eight convicts are involved in the case. They, according to the investigation, beat prisoners who collaborated with the administration of the colony during the riot. The suspects accepted the calls for mass riots and, acting jointly and in concert, committed violence against other convicts, the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service explained.

The riot in the maximum security colony (IK-47) in Kamensk-Uralsky took place on March 28 2021 year. The inmates smashed the security cameras and attacked other inmates. After the emergency, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under Article 321 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Disorganization of the activities of institutions providing isolation from society”).
