A lake in the Russian region was painted over on the map for the sake of building a house

Novosibirsk officials sold part of the lake for residential development and removed the reservoir from the map

part of the lake and paint over it on the map. Local residents were outraged by the blocked access to the reservoir, which was fenced off for the construction of buildings. This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash in Siberia.

This is about Lake Serebryanoye in the Baryshevsky village council near Novosibirsk. Earlier, an elite residential complex Akadem Klubb was built next to it, but the developer went bankrupt – the company managed to finish building part of the houses, and part of the plot allocated to it went from the auction. The current cadastral map shows that the new developer cut the territory into pieces so that he allegedly owns almost half of the lake, and on the plan for the development of the reservoir there is no water at all.

Frauds with the territory adjacent to the Serebryany made it difficult to access the old houses and displeased the villagers – one of them went to court to challenge the building permit. The man's lawyer, Zoya Shkarupa, told the Podyem newspaper that she was the first to face such a situation in Russia. The lawyer believes that the development on the territory of the lake violates the Water Code, according to which everyone has the right to access to water bodies.

However, the Ministry of Construction is convinced that officials acted on the basis of available documents and are not obliged to travel to the site for inspections, and the court did not recognize the local resident as a party to the conflict.

Since August 2020, the Russian government has allowed the territory of Baikal to be built up with apartment buildings. Residential buildings were allowed to be erected near the lake without prior passing an environmental impact assessment.
