There is a shortage of apartments for tenants in Moscow

MIEL: the cost of renting economy-class apartments in Moscow increased by 20 percent

almost all liquid supply. Because of this, the cost of renting economy-class apartments has increased significantly – by about 20 percent -, according to the materials of the MIEL agency received by the editorial office of Lenta.ru.

As noted by realtors, there has been a shortage of rental apartments: the volume of supply of rented housing in the fall decreased by almost two times compared with the summer indicators. As a result, there was a jump in rental rates. “What was offered in the summer for 30 thousand rubles a month, in the fall was already rented out for 36-38 thousand,” experts point out.

Also, according to their data, the search term for apartments for rent has increased. “Since there are a lot of overvalued or low-quality offers on the market today, which are not of interest to tenants, the search term for apartments has increased,” says MIEL. “The tenants are not considering“ grandmother's ”options, but want to rent modern comfortable apartments, but at the cost of“ grandmother's ”.” … They understand that either they will not find a worthy alternative, or they will find it, but it is much more expensive.

Rana learned that in the fall of 2021, the lower threshold of the rental cost of an apartment in old Moscow increased by 50 percent: from 20 thousand rubles in August to 30 thousand in October. A return to the previous prices in the segment of low-cost housing is unlikely, realtors say.
