Students in intensive care due to fake alcohol, doctors diagnosed visual impairment. Their condition was revealed by Aliya Nasibullina, head of the toxicology department of the Kazan City Clinical Hospital No. 7, according to the REN TV Telegram channel.
The doctor said that doctors are observing optic nerve edema in severe patients, they have already been examined by ophthalmologists. Nasibullina stressed that such complications are often found in those who poisoned with methanol.
In the rest of the patients, doctors recorded an increase in methyl alcohol in the body, severe weakness, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
The incident occurred. in the village of Salmachi. A company of 19 people aged 20 to 22 was vacationing in a cottage and drinking surrogate alcohol – a five-liter canister of unmarked vodka bought from an unknown person. Most of them were hospitalized on November 16 with signs of methanol poisoning.
The condition of the poisoned is assessed as moderate and severe. Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.
