Energy Minister Shulginov: Russia is not discussing an increase in coal supplies with Ukraine
Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said that Russia is not discussing an increase with Ukraine supplies of coal, TASS reports.
The minister was asked whether the representatives of Kiev had asked Moscow for additional supplies of Russian coal to prevent an impending shortage of electricity in the country. “No. They have their own balance, we have ours. We don't have much discussion there, ”Shulginov replied. In addition, he noted that there is also no decision on the export of electricity.
Earlier, Deputy Energy Minister of Ukraine Maxim Nemchinov said that in the event of a gas shortage during the heating season, the country could buy fuel in Slovakia. He explained that Naftogaz has the necessary funds and GTS capacity to purchase gas from Slovakia. At the same time, he decided that the projected price of gas that Ukraine can buy at the end of winter is about 26 thousand hryvnia (about a thousand dollars) per thousand cubic meters.
