A Russian woman hitchhiking told about the “worst case” on a trip to Chechnya 
A Russian traveler, hitchhiking and went to Chechnya talked about how they put a gun to her forehead. She shared her story with Lenta.ru.
According to the girl, hitchhiking is the most soulful thing in Russia. “The percentage of good and kind people is higher than anywhere else,” the traveler noted. Nevertheless, she talked about the worst case of all her travels, which happened in Chechnya with local men.
Once a traveler was returning with a friend and two Chechens from a picnic – young men took girls to the city. One of them began to get very nervous and behave inappropriately: shouting, taking away the phones from the hitchhikers and demanding to delete all the photographs that the tourists had taken during the day. “When we started arguing and wrangling, he just took a pistol out of the glove compartment and pointed it at me,” the Russian woman recalled.
Nevertheless, after the man quickly calmed down, and the girls safely reached the desired place. The hitchhiker explained the incident with the Caucasian mentality and the hot-tempered nature of the local residents. She noted that, in general, it is absolutely safe for a girl to travel to the Caucasus if she behaves correctly.
“You need to set your boundaries, not be very nice, because this can be regarded as flirting. If there are some “tackles”, then I either translate everything as a joke, or start pinning, but if I see that people are crossing the line, I begin to besiege. I never relax and do not allow myself to talk disrespectfully, I behave like a brother to everyone, ”the tourist summed up.
