Russian billionaire Araz Agalarov called a good idea Sergei Shoigu and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East to build several new cities in Siberia and the Far East. The businessman expressed his opinion in an interview with RBC.
Agalarov appreciated the idea of the authorities, noting that the population is now decreasing in the vast territory of the Far East. He also agreed to participate in the implementation of the project, if he receives such a proposal. The entrepreneur, in addition, cited the experience of other countries as an example.

Of course, you need to have an adequate answer, because people will not want to sit in the dark and look at it all their lives through the window. When the bridge is built and the borders are opened, they will simply move to the other side and stay there, “Agalarov said.
The entrepreneur also added that his company has built the Russian Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on the island. At the moment, Agalarov is negotiating the construction of a residential area there. “Perhaps we will take this project on a shared participation: we will receive project financing, build it, sell it, and transfer part of this project to Dom.RF. This is called a project for a share, “said Agalarov.
The government's plans to build a new city in the Far East near Vladivostok in August were told by the head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexei Chekunkov. It will be able to settle 300 thousand inhabitants, as a possible name of the city they chose “Sputnik”.
