Reports of severe side effects of vaccination were unreliable

Information about the severe consequences of vaccination against coronavirus has not been confirmed

Reports that people have severe side effects after vaccination against coronavirus, turned out to be unreliable.

In November, publications began to appear on social networks telling about the negative consequences of vaccination. So, on November 12, a message was published in the TOGLIATTI public on the VKontakte social network, the author of which stated that the townspeople complain of severe side effects after being vaccinated against the coronavirus. In particular, according to him, one of the local residents had a leg failure after vaccination, and numerous other adverse reactions were noted. The publication also said that people who have been vaccinated still become infected with the coronavirus and suffer the disease hard. In particular, the author cited a story about a man who, after being vaccinated, arrived in Togliatti and became seriously ill with COVID-19.

At the same time, the author indicated two women queuing at a local hospital as a source of this information. Their names and personal data were not given in the message, as well as other details that could confirm the specified information. No information about the author himself was provided either.

Three days later, on November 15, a similar message appeared in a public page on VKontakte in another region of Russia – “Overheard in Bryansk.” The publication provided identical information, also without specifying reliable sources. The only change was the exclusion of the name of the city of Togliatti from the text of the message.

At the same time, according to official information posted on the website of the Ministry of Health of Russia, in general, all vaccines currently used in the country are well tolerated, and post-vaccination reactions are generally mild. So, among the most frequent adverse reactions after the use of the Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines are a short flu-like syndrome, soreness, redness and swelling at the injection site, after using the EpiVacCorona vaccine – pain at the injection site, a short-term temperature increase not higher 38.5 degrees, and after the application of the KoviVac vaccine – pain and induration at the injection site, headache, as well as a short-term increase in temperature.

Information that those vaccinated against coronavirus are more likely to tolerate the disease contamination, previously also denied. Thus, the infectious disease doctor Yevgeny Timakov reported that although vaccination does not give a full guarantee that a person will not get infected, it reduces the intensity of the disease, Gazeta.Ru wrote.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, in turn, also noted that the most severe COVID-19 proceeds in the unvaccinated, the TV channel “360” broadcast. According to him, the vast majority of places in intensive care units in Russian hospitals are occupied by those who have not been vaccinated against coronavirus.
