International Red Cross: migrants are dying on the border between Poland and Belarus, humanitarian assistance is needed 
At least 10 migrants in the Belarusian-Polish border, died due to freezing temperatures, international humanitarian organizations should provide assistance to prevent new deaths, and the parties should go to de-escalate the situation. This is stated in the press release of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), received in “Lentu.ru”.

“We call for access to the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations so that all people in need at the border and elsewhere can receive medical and humanitarian assistance,” said Andreas von Weissenberg, head of the IFRC's Disasters, Climate and Crises Europe Division./p>
The same document states that the local branches of the Red Cross – in Belarus, Poland and Lithuania – however, they do not have full access to migrants, and the states must provide it.
“Humanitarian organizations unconditional and safe access must be provided to all those in need, regardless of their legal status. People cross the border only in clothes. They need food, medicine, hygiene items, clothing and COVID-19 protection. We need to be allowed to provide critical assistance, and we want to see a peaceful, humane and rights-based solution to the situation, “added Weissenberg.
The migration crisis on Belarus's border with Poland and Lithuania escalated in November. Crowds of migrants have gathered near the cordons of the republics, some of them periodically make an attempt to break through to the territory of the European Union.
