In the Prigorodny region of North Ossetia, they wanted to create a center for active tourism. It is assumed that it will be opened in the Dargav Basin, in which the village of Dargavs and the necropolis “City of the Dead” are located. This was stated by the chairman of the regional tourism committee Zaurbek Kodzaev, reports TASS on Tuesday, November 16.
“The Dargav basin is today considered as a territory for the development of horse riding, jeeping, paragliding. In the coming years, it has prospects of becoming one of the centers of active tourism, “he said.
In addition, it is planned to open a visit center in Dargavs, where tourists will be able to get all the information about recreation opportunities, as well as choose or adjust the route in the region.
“Not far from the village, by the way, there is a trail along which tourists climb Mount Kazbek … It is considered prestigious for climbers to climb Kazbek Peak from our Russian side”, – added the official.
The necropolis “City of the Dead”, dating back to the XIV-XVIII centuries and located in the Prigorodny region of North Ossetia, is a historical and architectural monument and is protected by the state. In total, there are 95 family crypts on its territory, in each of which several generations of Ossetians are buried.
