US President Joe Biden signed into law a $ 1.2 trillion infrastructure plan
$ 1.2 trillion, which the House of Representatives, after numerous disputes, was able to approve in early November, Reuters reports.
The document provides for the allocation of funds for a number of projects to develop such areas as transport and electrical communications, broadband Internet, systems water supply and protection from the effects of climate change.
The plan is one of the main parts of Biden's economic program. Another important piece is about $ 1.75 trillion in additional social spending. The head of the White House expected Congress to pass them at the same time, but due to disputes within the Democratic Party, so far only one has been approved.
The exact amount of spending under the current law will be from 550 billion to 1 trillion dollars. The funds are expected to be distributed over five years.
Previously, former US President Donald Trump said that Biden's infrastructure plan is an attempt to bring the US to socialism.
