An abandoned military bunker in Hamburg will be turned into an arts center and a heating station -space and boiler room. Instead of reconstruction, heating equipment will be installed in an abandoned building and an arts center will be organized with money from the sale of energy, the portal TheMayor.EU writes.
It was decided to install heat pumps and wood gasification furnaces at the future heating station, capable of providing more than a thousand energy houses. By 2025, public spaces, gardens, galleries and rehearsal rooms will be built on the territory of the bunker. The project invested 500 thousand euros (more than 41 million rubles).
A German graffiti artist, known under the pseudonym “1010”, was engaged in the design of the concrete structure – he painted a multi-colored image on the facade. The head of one of the districts of the city, Stephanie von Berg, believes that the project will be an excellent example of the restoration of historical infrastructure.
A military bunker in the UK hid unexpectedly luxurious housing. Three luxury apartments with a private patio and parking were found in a former nuclear bomb shelter. They decided to sell the object at auction at a starting price of 1.4 million pounds.
