According to her, the athlete will not participate in the competition until the end of the week. The head of the FLGR also stressed that Bolshunov, by the decision of the coaching staff, had already been selected for the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
On November 14, Bolshunov said that he could not train at full strength due to the surgery he had undergone. On October 16, the athlete underwent an operation on the jaw. It was originally planned that he will be able to return to full preparation for the season in ten days.
Bolshunov is the winner of the last two World Cups. In addition to the gold in the world championship, he also won silver at the world championships six times and once became a bronze medalist.
