Former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Klimkin: the European Union gives passes and “inspires” Putin and Lukashenko
Former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin criticized actions of the European Union (EU) in the situation with the migration crisis on the border with Belarus. The former Foreign Minister published the corresponding post on Facebook.
“When my friends from Brussels say that new sanctions against the Lukashenka regime are being discussed there, for example, against a hotel in Minsk where migrants are accommodated, it causes I have a smile. The European Union itself gives passes to Minsk with its half steps and “inspires” Lukashenko and Putin to raise the stakes, “Klimkin said.
According to the former minister, the EU should close the border with Belarus. “Those who create a crisis at the borders have no right to receive economic benefits from the borders. Then the conversation will immediately change, “Klimkin believes.
In early November, in Belarus, several thousand migrants from the Middle East gathered at the borders of Poland and Lithuania to enter the European Union. The West claims that it was organized by Minsk. Migration flows from Belarus to the EU have increased since late May, when President Alexander Lukashenko threatened to loosen controls over the border. Brussels is discussing the introduction of the next package of sanctions against Minsk.
