The representative of the border guard noted that this is a constant phenomenon. Mikhelskaya also shared that the number of illegal border crossing attempts by migrants is decreasing every day. “A month ago – on October 14 – there were 685 such attempts. Yesterday there were 17,” she said.
At the same time, the press secretary noted that the illegal immigrants changed their tactics. If earlier there were many individual attempts to penetrate the territory of Poland, now there are attempts of mass force forcing.
Mikhelska also said that 1828 people are currently in closed detention centers for migrants. “We have detained 2,500 foreigners this year. We are talking about the Polish-Belarusian border. Last year, there were 88 such persons, ”she concluded.
Earlier, the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs said that a large group of migrants from the Belarusian side was gathering at the border crossing, probably preparing to storm the border. It is noted that illegal immigrants crowd at the border in the area of the Polish city of Kuznica. “Border guards, police and soldiers are ready,” the authorities emphasized.
The migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the European Union began at the end of May.
