Kommersant: 16 million corporate mobile numbers of Russians may be disabled after December 1

More than half of corporate mobile numbers of Russians (16 million) may be disconnected from communication services after December 1. Konstantin Ankilov, CEO of TMT Consulting, told Kommersant.

According to Mobile Research Group, there are currently about 32 million corporate SIM cards in Russia.

happen due to violation of the Law “On Communications”, which regulates the turnover of gray SIM-cards. According to the amendments to the law introduced in December 2020, corporate subscribers must enter information about the end users of SIM cards into the unified identification and authentication system (ESIA) of the State Services portal. As Ankilov said, more than half of the customers of mobile operators have not yet entered information into the Unified Information System. The information was confirmed by another interlocutor of the edition, close to one of the major mobile operators.

Companies that have entered into an agreement with the operator before June 1, must submit information to the Unified Information System by November 30. Those who entered into contracts for communication services after July 1, enter the data of end users into the Unified Information System immediately. In addition, a transition period was adopted for the registration of telematic corporate subscribers (M2M, machine to machine), whose SIM cards are used in various sensors, ATMs, POS terminals and other devices. They can enter information until March 1, 2023.

Earlier in November it was reported that Roskomnadzor was deprived of the ability to collect all data on subscribers' conversations. The Ministry of Digital Development changed the procedure for transmitting data about conversations.
