In Ukraine, FSB accused of disrupting the operation to arrest “Wagnerites”

The Supreme Court of the Verkhovna Rada has published an interim report on the case of the “Wagnerites” Wagnerians “. The corresponding document was published on the website of the Ukrainian parliament.

According to the report, the Ukrainian side was preparing an operation to detain members of Wagner's private military company (PMC) from 2018 to 2020. It was planned that the PMC fighters would be able to lure into the territory of a third country and detain there legally. It is noted that one of the plans also provided for the landing of a plane with the Wagnerites in Ukraine under a far-fetched pretext.

The report indicates that subsequently Kiev decided to abandon such ideas, and the person who made this decision was never identified. At the same time, it is emphasized that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of his office Andriy Yermak were not involved in this. Ultimately, the VSK accused the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia of disrupting the special operation, adding that the relevant information was obtained by the Ukrainian side from the intelligence of other states.

July 29, 2020 in Belarus on charges of preparing riots before the presidential elections were detained 33 Russians from PMC Wagner. Some of them took part in the hostilities in Donbass and had Ukrainian passports. Kiev requested their extradition, but the Wagnerites managed to return to Russia.

Later, the editor-in-chief of the Censor.net website, Yuri Butusov, said that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) hoped to lure PMC members and use them to exchange prisoners with Moscow , however, the operation fell through due to the actions of the office of the Ukrainian president.
