Mash: a lawyer from the Stavropol Territory decided to defend the right to euthanasia through the court

A resident of Stavropol explained that the department had refused his request for euthanasia if necessary. After that, the Russian filed a lawsuit. The lawyer explained that he decided in advance to secure the right to a quiet death.

Euthanasia is a procedure to speed up the death of a patient at his request. In Russia, it is prohibited by Article 45 of the Federal Law “On the Fundamentals of the Protection of Citizens' Health”, in which refusal to artificially support a patient's life is also regarded as euthanasia.

Earlier, lawyer Igor Mirzoev from St. Petersburg filed a lawsuit against Channel One. The man demanded to collect 10.5 million rubles from the TV channel. Mirzoev explained that, having discovered a deterioration in the general psychological state, he turned to a psychologist. At the consultations, the Russian learned the reason for his poor health: the man regularly watched Channel One, and most of the news content was negative.
