Released from arrest, Bannon was ordered to report by phone every week. In addition, the passport of the main ideologist of Trump's presidency will be taken away. He will also have to report his travels outside Washington to the authorities.
On the morning of November 15, Bannon surrendered to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he was arrested on two counts of contempt of Congress. For each of them, Bannon faces up to a year in prison. The next court hearing, at which the adviser will have to respond to the charges, is scheduled for November 18.
The Justice Department accused Bannon in connection with the investigation into the events in the Capitol that occurred on January 6, 2021. Bannon's political consultant under Trump worked as a White House strategist.
