Russian fans vaccinated by “Sputnik V” will be given a COVID-certificate of the European Union

RFU: The European Union has decided to issue COVID-certificates to fans who have been implanted with the Russian “Sputnik V”

The European Union. This is reported by REN TV with reference to the Russian Football Union.

For this, fans who plan to attend the Russian national team's game in Split (Croatia) on November 14, will need to provide a national certificate in English about full vaccination. At the same time, in addition to the drugs registered in the EU, the Russian “Sputnik V” was included in the approved list.

Another way to get a document will be a mark on the disease suffered in the last six months. If the fan does not have a certificate, he will be offered to undergo an express test and, if the result is negative, to receive a digital COVID certificate from the European Union.

Earlier, Anatoly Altstein, a researcher at the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, predicted the timing of the approval of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” by the European Union. According to the virologist, if the World Health Organization (WHO) approves the Russian drug by the end of this year, then the European regulator, EMA, can do it. He admitted that the current delays in the approval of the Russian vaccine may be related to the difference in production standards.

On November 11, the British Embassy in Moscow said that the approval of Sputnik V would be a positive step on the part of WHO because it could contribute to the adoption of the drug around the world. In particular, the diplomatic mission commented on the possible inclusion of the vaccine in the register of funds for use in emergency situations.
