Before that, people caught between two fences asked for food, but were ignored by the authorities, and the Belarusians could not help them, as they ended up on the territory of another state.

Earlier, the Polish authorities announced that they were planning to build a fence on the border with Belarus. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic, Mariusz Kamiński, the length of the structure will be 180 kilometers and the height – 5.5 meters.
