The Russians were called content scaring the employer on the personal pages of social networks

Superjob: every fifth employer refused to hire because of social media pages

According to the Superjob service, in 2021 every fifth the employer refused to hire Russians because of the content published on their personal pages in social networks. Izvestia interviewed experts and named information that scares off employers.

HR Director of 1C-Bitrix, Vladislav Vikulov, recalled that reputation risks for scandalous posts are growing in Russia, moreover, the responsibility for speaking in public space is steadily increasing. According to him, the personal opinion published on the social network is perceived by the society as if it sounded on behalf of the company, although in fact this is not the case. In this case, hundreds of people may suffer who have nothing to do with the publication that offended someone's interests.

“I believe that a rare corporation needs potential problems associated with provocative, offensive, aggressive statements, which in theory can be regarded as a violation of social, administrative or criminal norms. So the procedures for checking the trail of candidates on social networks do not lose their relevance, “the expert emphasized.

Yulia Sanina, HR and Organizational Development Director of the Rabota.ru service, added that it is better to avoid public insults or condemnations in posts or comments on the Internet, not to publish too frank, and even more so, extremist content. Also, do not use profanity.

Experts noted that some people create several accounts, some are public, for employers, under their real name and surname, others are fake, for personal interests. Sanina advised to close their pages, instead of creating fake ones.

Independent HR consultant Dmitry Dygin recommended removing “traces of violent youth” from pages, especially to those who work with clients. At the same time, he does not advise completely cleaning accounts, since they serve as a kind of portfolio for a person.

Earlier, lawyer Ivan Solovyov said that an employee in a pandemic can go to work remotely if he writes a corresponding statement to the employer. He recalled the rule that 60 percent of staff during a pandemic should be transferred to remote work. According to the lawyer, an employee can write a statement with a request to transfer it to remote control, in which it is necessary to justify the need to change the format of work.
