The Foreign Ministry announced the continuation of the work of NATO and the EU with “Novichok”

Zakharova said that NATO and EU countries continue to work with substances from the Novichok group

NATO and EU countries, accusing Russia of concealing part of the former military-technical program of the Soviet Union, continue to work in laboratories with substances from the “Novichok” group. This was told by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, writes TASS.

According to her, Germany, France and Sweden still refuse to interact with Russia on the situation with Alexei Navalny ( the founder of the FBK, included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent and recognized as an extremist organization ). “We remind in this regard that work with the so-called” Novice “has been carried out and continues to be carried out in the military-chemical laboratories of a number of NATO countries and the European Union,” Zakharova emphasized.

She noted that it was registered in the United States about 140 patents related to the combat use of the Novichok and protection against them. At the same time, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said that recently the United States began to actively promote on international platforms the topic of its alleged commitment to fulfill the obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).

According to the British authorities, a former employee of the GRU Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned on March 4, 2018 with a nerve agent “Novichok” developed in the USSR. London notes that the attack was sanctioned by the top leadership of Russia. Moscow denies any involvement in the incident with the Skripals.
