American Theodore Konrad robbed a bank for 215 thousand dollars and hid from the police for 50 years
police for 50 years. The New York Post writes about this.
An American stole $ 215,000 from a bank in Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked in 1969. After a working day, Theodor Konrad left the bank with a paper bag of money. The theft became known only a few days later.
The offender was wanted. Three months later, he was nearly detained after talking to a married couple in a bar. The Americans later saw an orientation towards the robber on local television and recognized their acquaintance in it.
Konrad lived the rest of his life in the suburbs of Boston. As the newspaper writes, the loot was not enough for him, at the end of his life he had financial difficulties. Before his death, the American confessed to his relatives in the crime. He died of cancer in 2021.
Earlier in the United States, a criminal decided to carry out a second raid on a bank, which he had already robbed the day before. A 33-year-old San Diego, California resident walked into a bank branch in the middle of the day and handed a threatening note to the cashier demanding money. The bank employee obeyed. The next morning, the man returned to the same bank branch and tried to rob him again. This time, the police promptly arrived at the crime scene, and the robber was caught.
