According to the forecast of the meteorologist, the Russians will face a heterogeneous winter. “This means that there will often be zonal movements, that is, warm masses from the Atlantic, air processes will be transferred from west to east, but there will also be inflows of cold masses from the north,” he specified.
If we talk about temperature regime, then, according to the meteorologist, in the European territory of Russia, the temperature is predicted to be around and slightly above normal. “Above the norm, it is warmer. In December, the norm is 6 degrees of cold, in January 9, in February 7, around the norm – this is about these values. This refers to the average monthly temperature, that is, for all days and nights, “Vilfand said.
The meteorologist also noted that there will be strong drops. “This winter there will be frequent thaws, more often than usual, and at the same time periods with a significant drop in temperature. For Moscow, for example, it is below 20 degrees, “the specialist noted.
In conclusion, Vilfand emphasized that science has not yet learned how to make more detailed forecasts for periods of more than two weeks, since in the atmosphere studied by physicists and meteorologists, there is a great deal of chaos and unpredictability.
Earlier, the chief specialist of the Phobos center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, said in an interview with Sputnik radio that Russians are expecting “Eurozima”, that is, relatively mild weather. However, in a conversation with Izvestia, the head of the Meteo forecast center, Alexander Shuvalov, was skeptical about such detailed forecasts, saying that for more than 10 days, the forecast does not exceed 60-65 percent.
