Ukrainian servicemen who left Crimea in 2014 high-ranking officers and admirals are still forced to live in the hotels of the Ministry of Defense, and after retirement they may be left homeless. This was stated by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Elena Khomenko, RIA Novosti reports.

“Time passes, the military are retiring, and after retirement without a solution to the housing issue, they will be left without a roof over their heads,” said the parliamentarian in during a press conference in Kiev.

Earlier it became known that military personnel began to leave the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) en masse, discontent is growing in the ranks, and all units lack from 40 to 70 percent of personnel. According to one of the military, those soldiers whose contracts are running out “flatly refuse to sign new ones and continue to serve.” As the main reason, he named the “bestial” attitude of the officers towards them.

Crimea joined Russia in March 2014 after a referendum, during which the majority of the inhabitants of the peninsula supported this decision. Ukraine considers it an occupation.
