Servant of the People MP Dunda: Ukraine plans to push for a NATO base in the country
Ukrainian MP from Servant of the People party Oleg Dunda told the Observer newspaper what goals the new Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov plans to achieve. According to him, his task is to expand cooperation with the United States and achieve the creation of a NATO military base in the country.
“Reznikov's task is to drag the United States into closer cooperation with Ukraine and create at least one military the NATO base in Ukraine, “the politician said.
In his opinion, the minister can cope with this task at least six months. He expressed confidence that the involvement of the organization is possible, despite the fact that Ukraine is not a member of it. As an example, he cited the military base of the North Atlantic Alliance located in Qatar.
The parliamentarian believes that several hundred foreign troops should be enough to “secure Ukraine from Russia.” In return, according to Dunda, the country is ready to offer the NATO countries to help their military personnel in defense. “Europe does not understand what function Ukraine can perform in their safety,” the deputy said.
Earlier, the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milli, said that according to his assessments of the actions of the Russian military “near the borders of Ukraine “, We can say that they are not going to make an invasion of the country.
