A resident of Stary Oskol fell into someone else's apartment and took things out of it for 46 thousand rubles

the case concerning a 22-year-old local resident who fell through the attic into a neighbor's apartment and took out valuable things. The defendant in the proceedings faces a sentence of five years in prison, according to the website of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The statement about theft came from a 23-year-old homeowner. He said that an unknown person had taken out a laptop, a bag from him and a TV set. The amount of damage exceeded 46 thousand rubles. At the same time, the ceiling was damaged in the apartment.

Criminal investigation officers quickly identified the suspect and detained him. It turned out that the victim's neighbor had stolen the things. On the eve, he quarreled with his wife, was expelled from the house and decided to return back through the attic, but accidentally fell into someone else's dwelling. Taking advantage of the situation, he stole expensive equipment and disappeared. The Russian managed to sell the TV, the laptop and the bag were seized by the police.

A criminal case was initiated against the suspect under the article on theft committed with causing significant damage.

Earlier it became known that the windows remain the most vulnerability in the security of urban apartments in Russia. On average, over 2.3 thousand alarms from window sensors are registered in the country per month, which corresponds to the level of 2020 and is 70 percent higher than the indicators of 2019. Experts have compiled a rating of five cities where the share of thieves entering apartments through windows is the highest. It includes Smolensk, Krasnodar, Moscow, Saratov and Kurgan.
