In Costa Rica, a model caught 62 marlin and two sailfish and broke the record
In Costa Rica, model and TV presenter Marijke Van Laarkhoven Vega caught 64 giant fish at one time as part of the team and set a new record. This is reported by The Costa Rica News.
On the weekend of November 6-7, a model with the team of Captain Jesus Montero went to sea on a boat in the hope of breaking Costa Rica's record for sport fishing, set when in one once caught two sailfish.
Laarkhoven Vega said that she managed to catch 62 marlins and two sailfish. She added that all marlins were released back into the water so as not to reduce their population. “Besides, marlin is my favorite fish! – explained the girl. “Marlin is the king of the seas, its speed reaches 120 kilometers per hour, which is very impressive.”
The previous model's record was 36 marlins. In the near future, Laarkhoven Vega plans to go to a sport fishing competition in Mexico in the company of friends.
Marlin is a large fish that grows up to five meters in length. It suppresses prey with a long spear-shaped snout.
The sailfish grows up to 3.5 meters in length. The world record for catching sailboats has been held since 1947, when an individual weighing 100 kilograms was caught off the coast of Ecuador.
Earlier it was reported that a woman from Texas in the United States managed to catch a hammerhead shark from the roof of her car. It took her about 45 minutes to cope with the catch and pull the predator into shallow water.
