The brother and son of the imam of the mosque, who was killed in the Dagestan village of Ameterkmakhi, are in the intensive care unit of the Akushinsky district hospital with gunshot wounds. This was reported on the website of the republican department of the Investigative Committee (IC).
The IC confirmed that the conflict occurred due to a long-standing land dispute between a 62-year-old local resident and an imam. “Arriving at the house of the victim's mother, the man opened fire, as a result of which the imam was killed, two more people were wounded. It is emphasized that the wounded son of the deceased imam resisted and mortally wounded the shooter with a knife, ”the investigators said.
Local authorities reported the murder in the village. It was noted that the attacker Asadulla Rakhmanov came to the mosque with a machine gun to deal with the offenders. It is known that he was previously convicted of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
