BBC News: Ilya Naishuller left the TV series “Karamora” due to threats from Orthodox activists – for the series “Karamora”. This is reported by the Russian service BBC News.
One of the producers of the project, who was originally supposed to talk about the connection of the Romanov dynasty with vampires, said that the script had to be redone, and the series itself had to be turned into a film. The activists were unhappy with the fact that the Romanovs, numbered among the saints, appear in the guise of bloodsuckers, so it was decided to make the royal guards and nobility vampires.
Naishuller himself left the project. He confirmed that he received threats, but “did not attach serious importance to them.” The director's post was taken by Danila Kozlovsky, who also played the main role in the film.
In 2017, it was reported that Ilya Naishuller would shoot the fantasy series “Karamora” for TV-3. The beloved of the protagonist dies because of the vampires, and he challenges supernatural beings. By his actions, the character unleashes the First World War, and then the October Revolution.
