The founder of Gulagu.net Osechkin, who was put on the wanted list, admitted revenge on the part of the special services
The founder of the Gulagu.net project Vladimir Osechkin, who previously appeared in the database of wanted persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, in a conversation with “Lenta.ru” admitted the possibility of revenge on the part of the special services.
“What is being done against me procedurally, having declared it on the wanted list, is absolutely not scary. It is much better that the special services are looking for how to attract me, albeit on a far-fetched pretext, but with the appearance of observance of law and order than, roughly speaking, they would try to eliminate me physically, “Osechkin said.
the founder of Gulagu.net did not rule out that they will try to eliminate him physically. “But this will not change anything. The whole team is engaged in exposing, not me alone, “he said.
Earlier it became known that the Russian Interior Ministry is looking for Osechkin in connection with a crime under one of the articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, but for which one, it is not specified. The agency's website states that the human rights defender has been “re-declared” on the wanted list.
Osechkin said in one of the social networks that the persecution was connected with the publication of his project of a video about torture of prisoners in Russian colonies. He said that, according to his lawyer, the wanted list is related to the theft of some information in Moscow in 2016. “I responsibly declare that I have never stolen anything from anyone, and within the framework of Gulagu.net's activities, I acted within the legal framework, exposing corruption and torture,” said the founder of the human rights project. Osechkin had already been put on the wanted list: he was detained and released on recognizance not to leave, but later left Russia.
On November 10, it was reported that the prosecutor's office had terminated the criminal proceedings against Sergei Savelyev, a programmer and informant of Gulagu.net who released a video archive of the torture of prisoners in the Saratov prison hospital.
