EU thanks Turkey for refusing to let migrants into Belarus

The head of the European Council Charles Michel thanked Turkey for refusing to bring migrants to Belarus Middle East: from Iraq, Syria and Yemen. On behalf of the European bloc, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, expressed gratitude to the Turks on his Twitter account.

“Thanks to Turkish Airlines and the Turkish Civil Aviation Administration for their support and cooperation,” Michel wrote in response to a statement from side of the Turkish authorities.

Earlier on Friday, November 12, NATO expressed solidarity with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia in connection with the migration crisis and called on the Belarusian authorities to stop violations of human rights. The alliance believes that the situation is an artificial crisis, orchestrated by the regime of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, part of a hybrid attack on Western countries.
