Prime Minister of Belarus: “Sputnik V” of local production will be available from June 2022
Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said that the vaccine Sputnik V of its own production will be available to citizens by June 2022. He said that local enterprises are almost ready for the full production cycle of their drug, which will be launched at the end of 2021. The words of the head of the Belarusian government are reported by BELTA.
“Based on the schedule, by the beginning of next summer the vaccine will be ready to enter the civil circulation in Belarus and the export market,” Golovchenko said.
The timing of the production and availability of the vaccine was named by Golovchenko during his visit to the Belmedpreparaty enterprise. During his visit to the enterprise, he was accompanied by the Deputy and Minister of Health of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich.
Belarus plans to produce more than 10 million doses of Sputnik V per year, of which four million are for its own needs. In December, the country will release a pilot batch of vaccines, which will go into storage for testing for stability.
Limited production of Sputnik V in Belarus began in the spring of 2021. Russia donated the vaccine production technology.
