Xiaomi has begun work on a clamshell smartphone. This is reported by the Chinese edition of MyDrivers, citing a well-known insider under the nickname Digital Chat Station.
He stated that the Chinese company is going to release a clamshell smartphone in the foreseeable future. The device will consist of two halves connected by a hinge and folded horizontally. The specialist said that the device will resemble the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and Motorola Razr Blade 5G.
The device will be a flagship device. It will receive an OLED display, a top-end processor from Qualcomm or MediaTek. The rest of the characteristics of the gadget were not disclosed. Digital Chat Station clarified that thanks to the foldable design, the device will have a small size and easily fit into a pocket.
In March, the Chinese company Xiaomi presented its first folding smartphone. The Mi Mix Fold has a foldable form factor with an OLED display on each side. The main screen is 8.01 inches when unfolded, the secondary screen is 6.52 inches.
