Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba received information from the United States about “escalation attempts” by Russia
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that During his visit to the United States, he received new information from the American authorities about “attempts at escalation” on the part of Russia. He stated this following the results of negotiations with the head of the State Department Anthony Blinken, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, what the Ukrainian delegation learned in the United States corresponds to its own research and analysis of Ukraine, adds a number of new elements and allows to form a more complete picture of what is happening. The Foreign Minister also noted that the exchange of data strengthens both sides. So, he said that Kiev shared with the States and their partners some new details about what is happening in Belarus. Belarus is a potential front that cannot be ignored, Kuleba summed up.
Earlier it was reported that the US Secretary of State, during negotiations with Kuleba, accused Russia of all provocations in Donbass, including the movement of troops near the Ukrainian border. Blinken expressed concern that Moscow could “repeat the mistake of 2014,” when Russia allegedly accumulated forces along the border, crossed it and penetrated into the sovereign territory of Ukraine.
Relations between Kiev and Moscow deteriorated sharply after the reunification of Crimea with Russia in March 2014 and the beginning of the conflict in Donbass in April of the same year. Part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions declared independence. Kiev tried to return them by force, but to no avail. Ukraine accuses Russia of armed aggression and occupation of Crimea and Donbass regions. The Kremlin rejects the claims.
