Instagram blocked the page of the head of the social network, believing the fake about his death
The fraudster managed to block the Instagram account of the head of this social network, Adam Mosseri. According to Vice, the attacker “buried” the top manager using the “Account in memorable status” function, with the help of which users inform the moderators about the death of the page owner on Instagram.
The experimenter provided the journalists with screenshots of the correspondence with the social network administration , in which he informed them that Mosseri had allegedly died. Instagram was asked to provide a death certificate, obituary or news link that would confirm this information. In response, the scammer sent a pre-prepared article generated on a fake site.
Believing in the death of their leader, the moderators blocked Mosseri's account, and a memorable inscription about the owner's death appeared on his page. “It’s very funny that Instagram even allows this kind of thing to happen on their platform,” the hero of the story told reporters.
Access to the account was restored shortly after Mosseri himself was unable to use it. The publication notes that a less influential person would probably have to bring the account back to life within a few weeks.
Earlier, the American porn actress and model Kendra Sunderland (Kendra Sunderland) was blocked on Instagram because of an unsuccessful joke about sex with the head of the social network Adam Mosseri. The 25-year-old celebrity posted a candid photo without clothes, but the photo was not deleted and the account was not blocked.
