“Rossiyskaya Gazeta”: two-tariff regime will help save on electricity Decrease in bills can be achieved by switching to a three- or two-tariff electricity metering regime, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta. This scheme allows you to pay at night 3-4 times cheaper than during the day.
In Moscow and the Moscow region, two- and three-tariff plans are becoming more and more popular. Mosenergosbyt said that since the beginning of 2019, the number of consumers with such regimes has grown by 240 thousand. Their peculiarity is that electricity prices vary depending on the time of day. In the three-tariff mode, for example, one price is valid at night, another during peak hours, when the grid is especially busy, and the third is turned on during periods of average energy consumption.
However, the two-tariff regime is the most popular among Russians. According to the calculations of the WG, the transition to such a plan will help to cut electricity bills by about half. According to the standard one-rate accounting, Muscovites living in apartments with electric stoves pay 5.15 rubles per kilowatt-hour at any time of the day. If you switch to two-tariff metering, you will have to pay a little more during the day (5.92 rubles per kilowatt-hour), while at night the energy will cost only 1.74 rubles. However, the tariff is unlikely to suit Russians at a distance: there is a benefit if a person uses a lot of electricity at night (after 23.00), and is not at home during the day.
In addition, to switch to a new metering system, the consumer will have to buy a suitable counter (disk counter of the old format, for example, will not work). You can send a request for a free replacement of the device with a new, electronic one, but for this you will have to wait for your turn. If the apartment is already equipped with a modern metering device, it will need to be reprogrammed to the new tariff regime. The cost of this service ranges from 1.5 to 2.1 thousand rubles, depending on the model of the meter and the area of residence.
At the end of October, the head of the People's Control Organization in housing and communal services Natalya Chernysheva predicted an increase in the cost of housing and communal services in residential buildings. This will be the result of the reform on setting economically justified tariffs announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. The expert emphasized that the increase in tariffs above the inflation rate will affect everyone, while targeted support will be provided to a limited number of citizens of the country.
