Relatives of one of the Dagestanis who beat Kovalev in the metro, asked him for forgiveness

Relatives of one of those accused of beating Roman Kovalev in the metro asked the victim for forgiveness. This was stated by Roman's lawyer Yevgeny Korchago in an interview with KP.RU.

According to him, the mother, elder sister and brother of the accused of beating Hasan Zalibekov asked to meet with Kovalev through their lawyer. It is noted that Zalibekov was not directly involved in the fight.

“They said that they condemned Hasan's behavior and, for their part, asked Roman's forgiveness. Roman accepted their apology, “said Korchago.

Earlier, Zalibekov's mother recorded a video message in which she apologized for the incident to the victim and his mother. She noted that she condemns the behavior of her son and other attackers on Kovalev in the subway.

On October 4, three Dagestanis attacked 25-year-old Roman Kovalev in a subway train carriage at the Pervomayskaya station and beat him. The conflict began after Kovalev stood up for the girl. According to the victim, the rest of the passengers did not help him and fled to another part of the car.

All the participants in the beating were detained, criminal proceedings were instituted against them under articles on the use of violence against a government official and attempted murder.

On October 11, Bastrykin presented Kovalev with the “Valor and Courage” medal.
