Kungur Ice Cave was 2.5 kilometers longer

Speleologists have found that the length of the Kungur Ice Cave is 8.1 kilometers

Speleologists at the Kungur Laboratory of the Mining Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) have found that the Kungur Ice Cave is 2.5 kilometers longer than previously thought. This is reported by the portal 59.ru.

So, experts have been doing research for the last four years. Modern technologies have made it possible to establish the exact length of the cave – it is eight kilometers and 153 meters. It also turned out that the underground passages are actually more ramified.

It is noted that the new territories of the famous Ural landmark can be visited by tourists. “It is desirable to be in good physical shape. These places have multi-level passages, “- warned laboratory engineer Alexei Krasikov.

Earlier in August, the Federal Agency for Tourism Russia Travel compiled a list of the most famous, picturesque and impressive caves in Russia. The first place was taken by the Crimean “cave city” Eski-Kermen, the second place was taken by the Denisovskaya cave in Altai, the third – by the Vorontsovskaya cave in Sochi.
